California Highway Patrol - Bakersfield Office

Areas Served:  State Route 99, State Route 58 and the City of Bakersfield.  They also serve the unincorporated communities of Lamont, Pumpkin Center and Glennville.

About:  The Bakersfield area has a very diverse terrain with a mountain over 7000 feet high to the valley floor of slightly above sea level.  The area offers a wide range of recreational activities including horseback riding, water skiing on Lake Buena Vista and Lake Ming, auto racing at Auto Club Famoso Raceway, Buttonwillow Speedway or Bakersfield Speedway, kayaking on the Kern River, snow skiing at Alta Sierra, camping, fishing, hiking and biking.  The Bakersfield CHP provides safety and service to over 1 million residents.  They staff 115 sworn employees and 102 of whom are officers.  The mission of the CHP is to provide safety, service and security to hundreds of thousands of residents, commuters and tourists each day.
