About: The cities of Encinitas, Solano Beach and Del Mar contract with the San Diego Sheriff's Department for law enforcement services. The station protects the community through patrol, traffic, motors, community service officers, senior volunteers, area detectives and professional staff. Of the 107 staff, 36 are active members of the Senior Volunteer Unit. The area encompasses 60 square miles and includes the San Diego County Fair and the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club.
