Imperial County Police Departments

The Imperial Valley is located in the California Counties of Imperial and Riverside.  The County is located in the southeastern corner of California.  The City of El Centro is the main hub of the County.  The Valley is bordered by the Colorado River to the east and the Salton Sea to the west.  The main thoroughfares are Interstate 8, California 78, California 86 and California 111. 

The culture of the area meshes those of the United States and Mexico due to the county long the Mexico border.  The Valley's economy is based on agriculture.  The main population centers are Brawley, Calexico, Imperial and  El Centro.  El Centro is home to over 182,972 residents.

Many visitors travel to Imperial County for the Salton Sea (California's largest inland lake) and the Algodones Dunes.  Off-roading on ATV's is a popular activity during the winter months to enjoy the sand dune recreation area.  Bird-watching is also a favorite activity.  The Imperial Valley is home to the Sony Bono Wildlife refuge.
