About: The Vernon Police Department provides a full range of policing services to a unique community comprised of primarily businesses and industry. They have a Bicycle Patrol Team, a Motor Unit, a Canine Team and a D.A.R.E Program for the local elementary school. The patrol officers respond to all calls for service including responding to emergencies, investigating crimes, filing reports, checking out suspicious persons, conducting traffic accident investigations and enforcing traffic laws. They are very proud of the low crime rate that exists in the city and the partnership they have with the community.
